DES MOINES, Iowa -- Drake men's golfer Lucas Scherf and women's golfer Kristen Giles both earned spots on the College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District team, the organization announced on Tuesday, May 23.
One of the most decorated performers in Drake women's golf history, Giles was the runner-up after a two-hole playoff at the 2023 MVC Championships. She turned in a season-low round of 69 and claimed medalist honors in the Loyola Parkinson Invitational with an overall score of 225. Giles notched a 16th place finish in the ORU Spring Invite shooting 73-78-72--222 in the regular season finale.
